Hahaha... that's my attempt at a clever blog title. Anyway, our friend Brent decided he was done with doing good things in the Philippines and came to hang out with us in Hong Kong. So we decided we wanted to go check out the other city in the bay that was once not part of China, so we got a boat to Macau.

It's billed as China's Las Vegas and it really was.... except there were less people and a lot of it was closed because of Chinese New Year. When you get off the boat you see a bunch of free buses from the Casinos that will take you right to any casino on the island, so we hopped on one and it turned out to be quite the casino.

They had a model of the casino so you could see it all

The lobby was decorated for the new year

They had these humans dressed as dolls and "dancing" to music box songs... it was weird interesting.

It was a pretty interesting city though, if you wander through the streets that are part of the main section of the town they have a decidedly European feel to them.

In fact, for lunch we ended up having Spanish tapas in the Portuguese section of China. Kinda cool right?

After lunch we wanted around the other side of Macau and saw more crazy casinos full of crazy stuff.

They had their own Venetian... but their "opera singer" wasn't singing.. she was really bad at lip syncing.
Cute park in the middle of a street

Hotel/Casino

More hotel/casino

And more hotel/casino

The Great Wall of China as carved in tusk

A city in gold in the same hotel as the tusk carving
It starts to light up just like Vegas

After we got back to Hong Kong we were starving and ended up eating at Yoshinoya. Fun fact, in California I lived within a half mile of a Yoshinoya and never ate there, but did eat at one in Hong Kong... it was pretty good (EDIT: Michelle's was pretty good, mine was pretty bland. If you go there, pick curry over no curry) and I liked that their soda was an adult's size.
