I love Valentine's Day. I don't buy into the whole "why celebrate- you should always be nice to each other nonsense". Yes you should always be nice to each other, duh, but that doesn't mean you can't take a day and spend it really thinking about ways to shower the other person with love.

I have always liked it- picking out the perfect Valentines from a box and giving it to everyone, getting a bunch back (sometimes with candy!) then even through the dry spell that is High School it was still fun to see everyone else getting flowers and whatnot.

I always managed to start dating boys too close to Valentine's Day. The first Valentine's Day we knew each other we were just casually dating so it was kinda weird. I had LONG discussions with friends about what to do. I finally decided that since it was a Sunday and I was in town for my mom's birthday I would just leave a little note on his car at church. That was fun!

So without further ado, here's all the things we did to celebrate our love.

On Friday before Valentine's Day we went to a restaurant for NYC Restaurant Week. I think Restaurant Week is one of my favorite holidays. We went to some fancy smancy sushi restaurant and it was WONDERFUL.Such buttery sushi... yum! And Bonus- because we were crazy enough to go during the Blizzard we practically had the place to ourselves... it was only at the very end of dinner that annoying loud tourists showed up.

We went and got chocolates for each other for Valentine's Day. Li-Lac is the oldest family owned chocolate shop in NYC and it is super yummy!

I got all sorts of fancy in the nail art category for V Day. I started with the nude color and realized it was kinda blah and couldn't decide if I wanted Pink or Red so I did both. My other hand looks better and is the reversed colors, so my thumb had a red tip and heart.

Here's one of the Valentines Chad texted to me.

I decided to be just like Ellen DeGeneres because I was dressing for work and I thought- what is more Valentine's Day then those shoes? So I rocked the whole casual shoes with dress pants all day.

Even the Empire State celebrates by being all pink and red!

Here's our table set on actual Valentine's Day. Chad made dinner and it was lovely.

Happy Belated Valentine's Day everyone!
